Diagnostic Survey

Spec-con’s diagnostic survey division assists in ascertaining the health of a structure before any structural repair strategy is agreed. The survey establishes the cause and severity of the deterioration, by encompassing detailed inspections and the use of ultra sound and GRP technology. These techniques assess the severity and quantify the extent of the defects in order to accurately estimate the potential costs.

The information gathered from the diagnostic survey allows the client to make informed
decisions.

A diagnostic survey includes the following:
Depth of carbonation testing
Chloride/Sulphate profiles
Cover meter survey
Defect quantification
Remedial strategies
Specifications
Budgets

The Importance

It is important to find the cause, the severity, the extent and the potential cost before embarking on a refurbishment project. With this information, the client can then fully understand the severity and scale of the problem. After which we can prescribe the appropriate repair strategy and estimate accurately the budget for the works.

Diagnostic Instruments include:

Cover meter
Schmidt hammer
Crack measurement
Ultrasound – detects the presence of voids and cracks
Ultrasound Testing Equipment
Unmanned Aerial Vehicles

Unmanned Aerial Survey of Structures Utilizing Drones:
With our partners Delta Scan, drones are used to conduct aerial surveys of structures, providing a cost-effective and efficient way to inspect and assess the condition of buildings and infrastructure. This technology enables the collection of high-resolution imagery and data for analysis and planning.
